On 1st March 2017, Japotech opened its Head Office in Kampala, Uganda, launching business operations with a goal of contributing towards increasing broadband Internet penetration in Uganda and Africa at large. Back then, home broadband was rare in Uganda due to prohibitive set-up and running cost. We established that the high set-up cost was partly attributed to the providers using expensive contractors to deploy the connections. To address the challenge, we set up our team of local engineers and developed world class processes used to provide quality Internet link deployment and maintenance. We were able to influence our partner service providers to significantly reduce their broadband Internet set-up cost. To date, Japotech team has installed and maintained more than 3,000 broadband Internet links for homes, Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) and other corporate customers in Uganda. Japotech has also deployed, maintained and optimized mobile telecom sites for Mobile Network Operators (MNOs), thereby increasing mobile broadband coverage footprint with enhanced quality of service for the end users.
During the past one year, Japotech renewed ISO45001:2018 certification to guarantee good working conditions to its staff as well as ISO9001:2015 that gives the company the quality operations and service delivery, required to conform to its slogan of “Quality and Cost Effectiveness”. We are forever grateful to International Trade Center (ITC’s) Netherlands Trust Fund V (NTFV) Fast Track project, that supported the company to attain the two international certifications. The company delivered more than 20 different projects in the past year, to the satisfaction of our customers, thanks to our committed and hardworking team and supportive partners.
As we start the eight year of operation, Japotech envisages more collaboration with diverse stakeholders in the private and public sector, both local and international. Employing the continuous improvement approach to our services, Japotech will be developing new services and products to benefit more customers. We are relentlessly pursuing our vision of becoming the fastest growing telecom integration company in East Africa and beyond.
